The film in the cinema suddenly breaks off. The ticket girl seizes her opportunity and begins to talk to the public. She begins by merely informing them about the technical hitch, then starts to comment on the film of which they were deprived, and finally gets around to her own person. Unlike the later play Tearjerker (Červená knihovna), the heroine does not stop at self-glorification; the climax of the play is when she turns to the audience and starts to command, restrict and manipulate them.
